After having been purchased by US Bancorp a few years earlier, PiperJaffray was spun off in 2001 as an independent entity once again. For the annual report that year, we created a theme inspired by the firm’s “Guiding Principles” written by the founders. “What guides us” was grounded in the past, but very much looked toward the future, capturing the spirit of the new PiperJaffray. We illustrated that spirit with day-in-the-life images of employees and clients at Piper headquarters, through the lens of the amazing Marc Norberg. Rich black and white images and subtle use of gold metallic ink lent an approachable sophistication to the book. Agency: LarsenĀ Photographer: Marc Norberg Release date: 2002
